President

- Organize social events

- Relay all graduate student concerns and needs to the department

- Act as an official representative of the Biostatistics Union of Graduate Students.

Vice President

- Organize student seminars (joint with the Statistics Graduate Students Course Union in the Statistics Department)

- Assume the responsibilities of the president in the president’s absence

- Along with the president, act as a liaison between the department and the Biostatistics students

Treasurer

- Keep an account of the finances

Information Officer

- Distribute information to the graduate students

- Maintain and update BUGS website and BUGS e-mail list

MSc Representative

- Handle issues relating directly to MSc students

- Along with the president, act as a liaison between the department and the MSc students

- Together with the PhD representative, act as the PHSSA representative*

PhD Representative

- Handle issues relating directly to PhD students

- Along with the president, act as a liaison between the department and the PhD student

- Together with the MSc representative, act as the PHSSA representative*

- Maintain and update the comprehensive exams preparation binders

* PHSSA representative

- Attend monthly PHSSA meetings and relay pertinent information to the students

- Represent BUGS in terms of space issues for the department’s move to a new building
